2/19

Despite crappy weather, despite sleepless nights, and despite horrible period cramps, today was a milestone for me.
I ran a mile on the treadmill. I have never, ever ran a straight mile. EVER. And even though I was certain that my ovaries or other lady things were going to fall out of me ( yes, i just said that ) I did not stop. I'm so proud of myself. I did it in 13:14, which excites me because tomorrow I'll have something to beat. I got off the treadmill and cried. Texted my trainer, texted my sisters.

Quick update, and work stuff.

I was down 30lbs. Then I had an anxiety attack, stress, and 2 difficult clients. So I gained, I'm now I'm down 28lbs. I am back on track now. My goal is 4lbs in the next 5 days. It's also cd1, so this could pose for a big fat challenge. Losing weight on the ol' period. But if i can lose 30lbs over halloween, thanksgiving, christmas and new years, i can lose 4 measly pounds during shark week right? :)

Something else I want to talk about.
My jobs.
I need to invent an alternative word to stay at home mom. Because, I'm a mom first, but I have several jobs that allow me to bring in money each month to contribute to my family financially. So when people ask what I do? I usually laugh, and then explain...

1. Doula - I choose to only have a few clients a year, because it's extremely time consuming and I have to be able to drop anything, anytime. Once my daughter is in full time school, I'll take many more clients on, God willing.
2. Wedding Coordinator- I either help design the wedding, or I coordinate the day of, or both. I've slowed down on my weddings because I got screwed over/taken advantage of last year and it ruined it for me. I only have 2 weddings to do this summer, and I'm happy about that.
3. Blogger/Decorator- I mesh these together. I DO bring in a tiny bit of money on my other blog, but again, it's tiny. I only get one check a year. Thankfully, design clients are pretty constant. Whether I'm going into homes, or making online design boards for people all around the world ( like I had one from New Zealand last month! So fun )
4. Microsoft Guinea Pig- Every 3 months I'm called to Microsoft to be a guinea pig on products. It's a nice chunk of cash.
5. Furniture flipper- when things are slow in the above categories, I look for free/nearly free furniture to "flip" and sell for big profit. This is usually in the spring/summer only. I was born to be an entrepreneur.
6. Seller/Ebayer- I only sell for people a couple times a year. Usually people that dont have a clue how to run ebay or craigslist, or people that dont know how to price/research antiques or furniture they have. This is when my perfect ebay score comes in handy :)
7. Site Inspector- This starts next week. It's random, it'll be a few times a month maybe, but it's cash.

Sometimes I'll go a month and not bring any money in. And it drives me nuts. But I love being creative and I'm working with the lil gifts that the Lord has givin me.
So that's what I do.
But raising my 4 year old is by far the most fun. She's friggin hilarious, and she can also put me back in my place and bring me down to earth faster than anyone :)
